Ministry of Higher Education Launches the Fourth Edition of “Study in Iraq” Program for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has officially announced the launch of the fourth edition of the “Study in Iraq” program for the 2026/2027 academic year, aimed at attracting international students to Iraqi universities.
Application Timelines
During a press conference, the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hallo Al-Askari, confirmed that the “Study in Iraq” electronic platform is now open for international applicants. The deadlines are as follows:
- Postgraduate Programs: Applications are open from today, May 4, 2026, until July.
- Undergraduate Programs: Applications remain open until September.
Strategic Objectives
Dr. Al-Askari explained that the fourth edition aims to transcend previous enrollment levels by:
- Enhancing Diversity: Strengthening academic and cultural diversity across 78 public and private universities.
- Enriching the Academic Environment: Integrating international experiences to foster educational quality and global knowledge exchange.
- Internationalization: Prioritizing the “Internationalization of Education” as a cornerstone of the Ministry’s strategy to elevate the global standing of Iraqi universities.
